How to Use Ana’s List of CommentLuv Enabled Blogs List Correctly

The Ultimate List of CommentLuv Enabled Blogs

Ever since I discovered THE list of CommentLuv enabled blogs at Ana Hoffman’s Traffic Generation Café, I’ve been happily building backlinks to my various blogs.

Ana began her list with blogs in the blogging/online marketing niche. Those are the type of people who read her blog and so she made her list originally, with just those types of CommentLuv enabled blogs.

After numerous requests from her readers, Ana has added blogs from other niches to her list of CommentLuv enabled blogs. If you don’t know of all the benefits of a CommentLuv enabled blog for both the blogger and the blog reader, check out this post.

My CommentLuv Experience

After finding Ana’s list at Traffic Generation Café (I love that name for a website), I decided to visit each CommentLuv enabled blog and if I could, leave a comment that added value to the conversation of the listed blogs. I quickly found out that not all posts are ones I could intelligently comment about. Sometimes I had to dig a little to find a post that piqued my interest, which is the only kind I could ever intelligently comment about.

My visiting each of these blogs listed on Ana’s site did two things, it helped my blogs move up in the search engine rankings after I posted comments. The sites on Ana’s CommentLuv enabled blogs list are great sites, high quality and provide amazing backlinks. But more important than that, I have learned a lot and will continue to keep learning about social media, motivation, online marketing and blogging as I continue to visit those blogs.

Specifically, I’ve already learned a lot from: W3Blog.dk, Free Blog Help, Danny Brown – Social Media Marketing Blog, Ari Herzog, 2 Create a Website w/Lisa Irby, We Blog Better and The Wonder of Tech.

If you use Ana’s list of CommentLuv enabled blogs, do so with courtesy and with a desire to learn, not just as a tool to build backlinks.

Don’t Leave Comment Spam

I don’t consider what I’ve done and continue to do as comment spam. I absolutely will not leave comment spam. For example, “Great post. I learned a lot from your article,” or “I’ve been looking for this information for a long time,” or this goodie, “You write great. I will come back often.” I can hear bloggers screaming, “No, don’t return to my site.”

Comment spam is a bad problem today. There are already too many Russians and Ukrainians trying to leave bingo, poker and porn comments on your site, busy bloggers don’t need even more people in need of backlinks to waste their time. If you have plans to leave comment spam on the blogs featured on Ana’s CommentLuv enabled blog list, please change your plans.

Warning

Recently, I saw this warning from Jimmy Sigenstrøm about using CommentLuv enabled blogs exclusively to build backlinks:

Many only comments on blogs with dofollow, comluv and keywordluv, but that’s imo a sure way to attract attention from Google. Do to their rule about natural link building. So I comment on blogger blogs, free wordpress blogs, high and low pagerank/alexa ranking sites, meaning that I spread the links out on all of them. Although the most of the links are from sites, with dofollow and so on, but also the rest. So spread your links out to all kind of blogs.

See the rest of Jimmy’s post on link building here.

I’ve not heard of Google penalizing bloggers who get most of their links from one source, such as CommentLuv enabled blogs. But I think Jimmy may know a thing or two about blogging.

I think it’s always best to spread out the links. If you put all your backlinks into one basket, what happens when that basket tips over or no longer recognized by Google?

Your Experience with CommentLuv Enabled Blogs

What has been your experience with CommentLuv enabled blogs? Do you comment on them quite often? Are you a blogger who uses CommentLuv? Are there any cons to go along with the many pros? I’d love to read your thoughts below. And you’re right, I am not using CommentLuv yet. But it and Disqus are my two favorite commenting platforms outside of the typical WP comment system.

Thank you for reading and thank you in advance for your comments.

  1. I find many of the blogs are good ones. Some aren’t updated as much as they used to be. Also, check out a bunch of the PR3 blogs. THey’re quite good, especially Wonder of Tech.

  4. It’s always good to comment on blogs that are both follow and do follow. Plus, if you look at the list, you’ll see which ones are DF and which are NF. Plus, you’ll always be learning as you read the blog posts if you’re interested in reading the actual posts and not only interested in getting links. That’s at least how I approach the list. My goal is to learn from others, if I get a do follow link in return for a comment, all the better.

    Happy blogging,
    Brian

  6. Great points you made here, nothing worse than a drive-by commenter! It does take time to leave quality comments on blogs, but the rewards are well worth it!
