Identity Theft is Always a Trend
Blogging isn’t rocket science. Depending on what your goals are (a high amount of traffic is a typical goal), there are different ways to write a blog post. However, none of these are quite difficult. Let us assume you want traffic. If that’s the case, it is a good thing to write about what people are searching for on the internet.
Today, the top ten trending terms on Yahoo are the following:
1. Ellen DeGeneres
2. Siri
3. Jason Campbell
4. Elizabeth Warren
5. Tech stocks
6. Scarlett Johanss…
7. Danny Masterson
8. Mortgage rates
9. Dreamliner
10. German satellite
Now of course, just posting their names won’t do anything for your blog. If this post is to mean anything to a search engine, there has to be more content here. For test purposes only, I will create some content about each name.
Ellen DeGeneres is a funny comedian. I was never a fan of her sit-com and not even a fan of her talk show but I’ve seen snippets and she’s a good host.
Siri is a trending topic. If you don’t know about Siri, then you must not be an iPhone owner. She’s the virtual assistant loaded into the new iPhone 4S. Apparently someone has sung a duet with her and a lot of people can’t get Siri to learn their names.
Jason Campbell is trending and I’m guessing it’s because of his football skills, he’s a quarterback. Or maybe he won the Smithfield Annual Cockroach Throwing Contest with a throw of sixty yards. It’ll be amazing if anyone is searching for this topic. I’ll let you know in the comments section in few days.
Elizabeth Warren is a lady running for the Senate in Massachusetts. She’s trying to defeat Scott Brown who is the man of the people. She has said some really crazy things in her campaign, even going so far to say that Steve Jobs and every entrepreneur owes their success to the government. She said just today that she is going to try to win the “hick” vote.
Tech stocks are crashing today. They’ve been brought down by Apple which had a worse quarter than expected and lost 97% of their value, closing today at $1.75 a share. Who knew Apple could lose so much in one day? Just kidding. They went down, but not that much.
Scarlett Johansson is being accused today of being too sexy. Okay, I’ll buy that. I don’t know if it’s worth reading about. But an affair between her and Woody Allen might be read worthy. Alas, her and Woody’s relationship is purely platonic.
I wondered whatever happened to Hyde from That 70s Show. It looks like Danny Masterson (his real name) got married today in the Irish countryside. I hope he wore shoes. I’d hate for his feet to get some of that Irish dew on them.
Mortgage rates have skyrocketed today back to Jimmy Carter levels. If you didn’t refinance yesterday, you’re in trouble. The new rates for a 30 year mortgage rates are now 18%. Believe that and I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.
Boeing is not having a good year. Their Dreamliner 787 is seeing more cancellations and delays. What’s happened? If only they could put that new factory and 1000 people to work in South Carolina. They would if it wasn’t for President Obama and his administration stopping Boeing from putting those people in South Carolina to work. They’re suing Boeing to stop the opening and all this when the admin says jobs are important.
News today about the German satellite has it turning around and heading back to space. When asked why, the satellite said, “The economy is so terrible. And I don’t want my wreckage to be picked over like I’m some piece of junk.”
Well, that’s about all for this experiment. I’ll probably add another experiment one week from now, but that one won’t be with trending topics.
Stay tuned for the traffic results for this post. I’ll compare it with some unique content I’ve made for this site and provide details in the comments below.
